20 Week Belly Shot

4.28.2006

He's growing and pushing out! Yes, you can see the indent made by my maternity pants . . . I'll be tres happy when the band fits well under the belly, not smack dab in the middle of it!

First Big Baby Purchase!

4.14.2006

Adam and I have made our first big baby purchase -- I've been scooping up maternity clothes for awhile now, but this is the first real baby "staple" item.

We purchased the Cadillac of strollers, a Peg Perego. We got an incredible deal on one (the actual one in the photo) on ebay -- brand new in the box and about $100 less than anywhere else.

Why is it the top of line -- well, let me tell you! My two favorite features are that all four wheels turn, not just the front two, and the handle swivels 180 degrees so you can either push the stroller with the baby facing you or facing out. It also is amazingly easy to set in a recline position and fold up. The fabric is a nylon type, not a cotton blend, so it is very easy to wipe clean. As you can tell, I'm very excited!!

It can also work as part of a travel system, and I found the matching infant seat also on ebay for a very, very low price. I'm hoping we win it there for the price I want, if not, I'm not opposed to a non-matching infant seat for the few months we'll be using it. My theory was I much rather have a non-matching travel system for the 7-10 months he'll be in an infant seat, and have a great, top of the line stroller for the three years he'll need it, then a nice coordinated one, but a mid-line stroller that gets all squeaky after about a year.

Looking forward to it arriving -- both stroller and baby!!

Erin --
