Henry's World!

11.27.2006

The bear may love Henry, but Henry (and his Mommy and Daddy) love his Great Aunt Theresa! This friendly little fellow was waiting for us when we returned from Thanksgiving in Madawaska, and it put a huge smile on Henry's face! What a great gift!

Henry loved his week-long visit up in Madawaska. Mommy loved the two extra set of hands around to help out! We certainly miss our Memere and Pap . . .

Getting ready to go for a Thanksgiving Day walk with Mommy and Pap -- he really did like it and stopped crying once we got out doors .

Back home, on his floor mat with Daddy -- happy as can be!

Some new pictures

11.22.2006

Enjoying some floor time with Daddy . . .

Henry and I are up North in Madawaska -- been here since Monday (came up for Memere's/Mom's birthday). Adam gets here Thanksgiving Day -- Missing him very much!

Memere gave Henry a nice bath in the sink

Baptism

11.12.2006

Not quite ready to talk about the baptism yet -- those of you who were there can probably understand. The water and oil found their way to his head, but I'm certain everyone member of my parish as the 4:00 mass now hates our guts . . .

The first pictures, although out of focus, kind of sum up Henry's whole approach to the event . . .

I just want to say for the record, he really is a very good baby.

Henry's First Election!

11.08.2006

Henry's first election has come and gone --

Things He Liked:
  • The Victory Party (Daddy carried him in the sling)
  • Getting the Results
  • Staying Up Late (we got home around 11:00, he was asleep by 11:30, and slept 5 hours straight!)
  • Stickers
  • Grandpa Winning His House Race!
Things He Didn't Like:
  • Mom Making ANY Campaign Phone Calls of Any Kind
  • Poll-Watching
  • Driving Around From Place to Place
  • Really Anything That Required Any Work

He is now sleeping off a sweet victory . . .

This was at the victory party

What the . . .

11.06.2006

Henry wasn't sure what I had him in, but he was a good sport about it.

He's still just a wee bit too small . . .

FINALLY!

11.02.2006

I now have a chance to write a little bit. Henry is on his playmat, cooing at the mobile on top and the saucy minx who's voices plays from the mobile. He's about to get a bath in a bit -- something he really seems to enjoy. Then he'll nurse for a bit and Adam will rock him for well over an hour (he is usually asleep in under five minutes).

Adam got me an IPod for my birthday, and he downloads our favorite daily NPR shows and listens to them as he rocks Henry, so rocking for an hour is a pleasure for both of them.

It's also one of my favorite times -- I can get some things done, get myself ready for bed and just relax a bit.

Hocus seems very interested in Henry, expect when he's crying. He has always been a great cat -- never one to bother us while we are sleeping; he sleeps with us, but only comes to the head of the bed to visit if he knows we are awake, so . . . in the middle of the night, when I am feeding Henry (we do this laying down in bed), Hocus realizes I am awake but doesn't realize what I am doing. He slowly creeps up to see me, which promps me to to shoo him away, since he would be stepping on Henry if he came all the way up to see me. This results in a very dejected and sad Hocus and a very guilty me -- thinking I don't spend enough time with him anymore.

Anyway -- enjoy the pictures!

Time has lapsed since I started this post. Henry ran out of patience with the floormat. He is now squeaky clean (he was tooting in the bath and making bubbles . . . just like Daddy) and being rocked by Adam right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he'll sleep for a good 5-6 hours, but more likely it'll just be a 2-3 hour nap. I try to be in bed and asleep by 9:30 or 10:00 so I can enjoy some of his quite time . . .

My sister has just purchased a digital camera and started a blog of her own. It really is the way to go if you don't have a ton of time and want to share pictures with people who may have problems opening attachments. Take a second to visit her site, http://www.cowieconnection.blogspot.com/.

Good night!
